Estimation of Extinction Coefficient and Radiation Use Efficiency in Vicia Faba

To study the germination characteristics and seed vigor of different soybean seed lots and their relation to yield and agronomical traits, CRD design (nested) in laboratory and RCB design (completed analysis) in field were performed with four replications in which treatments consisted of different seed lots of 3 cultivars of Dpx (two lots: Gorgan and GonbadKavous), Sahar (five lots: Gorgan, GonbadKavous, Sari, Babolsar, and Kurdkuy), and Williams (two lots: Ardbil and GonbadKavous) at two sowing dates: 30 May and 1 July. Results of seed vigor experiments indicated that Gorgon seed (DPX cv.), Babolsar and Sari seeds (Sahar cv.) and Ardabil (Williams cv.) due to having lower EC (electrical conductivity), the higher seedling dry weight, the higher normal seedling and the germination percentage than other seed lots, are placed in higher class in terms of  seed vigor. In the first sowing date, yield, total dry weight and harvest index in all of seed lots were more than the second sowing date. Generally, results illustrated that there was not any certain relation among seed vigor and yield and total dry weight.In other words, in seed lots of Gorgon (DPX cv.), Babolsar, Sari (Sahar cv.) and Ardabil (Williams cv.) which had a higher vigor in terms of traits under study, had no superiority over others seed lots with lower seed vigor in all agronomical traits in two sowing date. Finally, they were similar to those seed lots with lower seed vigor in most cases.
