Abstract
Introduction: Bio-fertilizers are cost-effective and renewable source of plant nutrients to supplement partly chemical fertilizers. Bio-fertilizers play a vital role for improving soil fertility by fixing atmospheric nitrogen by plant roots and solubilize insoluble soil phosphates and produces plant growth substances in the soil. The aim of this study was to determine effects of combination of biological and phosphorus fertilizers on some quality and quantity properties of wheat cultivars.
Materials and Methods: The experiment was carried out as factorial based on randomized complete block design with three replications in Farm Research of Gonbad-e-Kavous University during 2010-2011. In this experiment, first factor was wheat cultivar in two levels (Koohdasht and line17) and secondary factor was combination of biological and phosphorus fertilizers in eight levels (non application of fertilizer, application of 25, 50 and 75 kg/ha phosphorus, mycorrihizal fungi inoculation, phosphorus application of 25, 50 and 75 kg/ha with mycorrihizal inoculation). Each plot contained 5 rows with 20 cm wide and 5 m lengths. In harvesting time traits such as; number of spikes/m2, number of grains/spike, 1000-grain weight, grain yield, protein percentage, phosphorous percentage, phosphorous yield and protein yield were measured.
Results: Results showed that effect of cultivar on all characteristics was significant except for phosphorus and protein percentage. Number of spikes/m2, number of spikelets/spike, number of grain/spike, 1000-grain weight, grain yield, total dry weight, protein percentage, phosphorous percentage, phosphorous yield and protein yield were affected by combination of fertilizers. Grain yield in Koohdasht cultivar was greater than line17. The maximum and minimum grain yield with 6665 and 4152 kg/ha was belonged to consumption of 75 kg/ha phosphorus + inoculation with mycorrihizal fungi and non application of fertilizer treatment, respectively. Phosphorus and protein yield in application of 75 kg/ha phosphorus + fungi inoculation with 1020 and 18.32 kg/ha were greater than other treatments.
Conclusion: In general, Koohdasht cultivar was better than line17 and consumption of 75 and 50 kg/ha phosphorus + inoculation with mycorrihizal fungi created better conditions for seed production.
