A split plot was used in the form of randomized complete block design with three replications. The main plots were systems of crop rotation and subplot consisted of weed control and no control. The crop rotation system and weed control had significant effects on all measured characteristics. Results indicated that the highest grain yield (5606 kg/ha), number of spikes per square meter (457 spikes), l000 seed weight (38 gr) were obtained using wheat – chickpea rotation. The highest and lowest harvest indices were obtained using rotation of wheat - cotton (34.51%) and wheat - sunflower (28.12%). There was a significant differences between weed control treatments and no control. Grain yield and yield components showed higher amounts in weed control treatments. On the whole, higher grain yield of wheat was gained using legume plant in rotation. M3 ER -
