Effects of time and integrated applications of biological and chemical fertilizers on yield and yield components of chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) in dry land condition
Abstract:   (2019 Views)

A factorial experiment based on complete randomized block design with 3 replications was conducted to evaluate the effects of time and integrated application of biological and chemical fertilizers on yield and yield components of chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) in dry land condition during 2012-2013 in a private farm located 40 km apart from Joghatai, Khorasan-e-Razavi province, Iran. Treatments consisted of fives combinations of biological and chemical fertilizers (100% Chemical fertilizer, 25% Chemical+75% biological, 50% Chemical+50% biological, 75% Chemical+25% biological and 100% biological) And two times of foliar application (vegetative and vegetative + flowering). The interaction between time and percentage of integrated application had significant effect on number of lateral branches, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per plant, plant height, economical and biological yield. The greatest seed and biological yield was achieved in combination of 75% Chemical+25%biological at vegetative stage and combination of 25% Chemical+75% biological at vegetative + flowering stage. The highest number of branches were related to the chemical fertilizer. Increasing of chemical fertilizer percentage at combination of fertilizers and application in vegetative stage increased the number of pods per plant. The highest number of seed per plant belonged to biological treatment and the low combination of nitrogen fertilizers with biological fertilizers. Overall results indicated that the optimum yield was obtained from humic acid spraying or from two times application of mixing 25% nitrogen and 75% humic acid, the yield of these above mentioned treatments was better that the others.
